Occupational Therapy
The goal of pediatric occupational therapy is to assist children in developing the essential skills needed to grow into healthy, independent adults. Kidz 'N Motion Occupational Therapy utilizes fun, meaningful activities that build on each child's strengths in order to target limitations that may be hindering their development. Skills targeted in occupational therapy include, but are not limited to:
Fine motor (grasp, object manipulation) and visual motor skills (hand eye coordination, coloring, pre-writing, handwriting, scissors, typing)
Sensory integration and sensory processing (auditory, visual, touch, movement, body position, conduct, social emotional, attention)
Emotional regulation (mood, behaviors, impulse control)
Executive functioning and life skills (study strategies, organization, critical thinking, coping skills, responsibility, attention, time management, problem solving, decision making, planning, task initiation, working memory, perseverance)
Social skills (social awareness, communication, play skills, friendship, conflict resolution, cooperation, following directions, sharing, patience, eye contact, respecting personal space)
